I bought this for my boat because I wanted a floating cooler for the sand bar. The ice lasted all day, but was getting slushy by the evening. That was likely due to me dumping it over warm cans in a warm cooler and then placing the cooler in 80+ degree water all day in 98 degree weather. All in all, it seems like a solid cooler. My drinks stayed cold all day and the tray was great for sandwiches, fruit, cheese, etc.

Over the July 4th weekend I took the cooler on my roadtrip to Utah from so cal. I looked into this cooler because of the size, more specifically the height of the cooler. I overland/ Offroad/ camp often and I already had a RTIC and a Yeti cooler. However, after installing the Deck’d system in my Toyota Tacoma. The space between the deck and my bed rack was too small to fit my other coolers. I came across the rugged road 45 v2 which had the perfect height. It fit perfectly, and it did not have that much less space on the inside and I was able to fit 4 days worth of food and drinks for two people, packing only what was essential. I am very happy with the purchase.

Very happy with my RR 45 V2. I used to use a yeti roadie 20 but alot heavier then my new RR45. I travel alot for work and I filled both my yeti and the RR45 with the same amount of ice and the yeti lasted 24 hours . My RR45 lasted almost 3 days. Much better.

I recently took the RR45 through Class I-II rapids, and it performed flawlessly. Despite a few dings and scratches, the minimal river rash attests to the toughness of the Rigorite material.
