Cavernous Cooler Space
Open any roto-molded cooler and the first thing you notice is how thick the cooler walls are and how little space this leaves for ice and contents. The Rugged Road 65 is different. Its cavernous design gives you far more useable space. In fact, roto-molded coolers with comparable exterior dimensions have an interior capacity of about 52 cans. While you'll fit 65 cans in your Rugged Road 65!

The only cooler that floats upright.

What Our Customers Are Saying...

Not a Back Breaker
I have one of the "Y" brand coolers and it is a back breaker even empty. My Rugged Road 65 is really light weight and can hold everything the "Back Breaker" does. Plus it keeps the items just as cool. Why would you not buy the Rugged Road cooler when you have a choice? It is now my "Go To" cooler.
Rugged Road Outdoors
Jerry, thank you for ditching that Y brand cooler and taking a chance on our growing business! Your back will thank you for many years to come ;) If you have any questions for us down the road, don't hesitate to reach out!

Great, just wish they had larger options.
Great design and construction. Wish they would make a larger option. Would Love to have one of these in 150quart or larger.

Hi Chais! Thanks for taking a minute to share your thoughts :) You'll be happy to hear that we have some new products in the pipeline coming soon... hint hint!

4 Stars
We used our 65 on two trips before making this review. I feel the light weight of the cooler makes it good for casual uses, like beach, picnics, or glamping. It holds ice well and is functional, but I wouldn't recommend for heavier adventure trips, like hunting, ATV, or boating. The exterior is softer than I expected and dents/dimples very easy; just sliding out of truck and sitting on ATV bars caused dents/dimples. At first, I liked the removable lid feature, but found it comes off too easy when cooler is open. It is a fly away risk if opended when riding or boating. I also noticed the drain condensated quite a bit more than my other coolers on the same trips. Overall, it is a neat addition to our cooler collection, but it isn’t tough enough to replace our hard-shells, and is a bit pricier than I feel it is worth.

Hi Olivia, thank you for taking some time to leave some feedback on your experience. We really do value our customers' opinions - they have been a large part of our decision making process since we sold our first coolers in 2019!

High quality and Light!
Have had this cooler for about a year. Have a fishing cabin in Ozello Fl. Hurricane Idalia floated my Engel 35 roto-molded cooler away, not to be found. Told my wife, not to worry, my Rugged Road is in Ocala and safe. Engel 35 is 10 pounds heaver and smaller. Would like to know why the big guys have not developed lighter coolers? Will never buy another roto-molded cooler. Almost forgot. Not only light but great design and high quality build.
Rugged Road Outdoors
Hi Bill! First off, we are glad to hear that you're safe from Idalia. We're so glad that our coolers have been a great fit for you. If you have any questions down the road, don't hesitate to reach out!

So far so good
Product is everything it claimed to be. Light, floats, and holds ice pretty good.
Rugged Road Outdoors
Thank you for taking a moment to share your experience, Lisa! So glad to hear you're loving the cooler :)

AWESOME!
Just got my 65 from my parents for my birthday. First the weight of the cooler is awesome! Don’t get me wrong I love my yeti 65 but this cooler is more user friendly and 1 person carry, even while loaded down with drinks and ice. Second the built is top quality. Pretty cool “rugged” build is sweet. I’m sure I will have to add to my collection soon! Keep on keepin on!

First off, happy birthday! So glad to hear you're loving the cooler. If you have any questions down the road, feel free to reach out :)

Awesome cooler!
Bought this cooler after using several of the competitors. Couldn’t believe how light it was and still maintained the ice retention!! My only regret is not buying the larger one!
Rugged Road Outdoors
Hey Jeremy! Thanks for taking a chance on our growing brand - we're so glad to hear that the cooler is a great fit for you!

It’s Rugged and Light.
I think my RTIC 65 holds more and ice lasts longer. Since these 2 things are the most important things to me, it seems expensive for what I got.

Almost Perfect
I have a 65 V2. Love that it is light. It holds ice as well or better than any cooler I have owned. Decided to try to float it with us in the springs after bragging to my buddies how it floated upright. Mine didn’t. It listed to the side and actually took on water. It was half full of ice and beer. I even shook it a bit to ensure the contents were evenly distributed on the bottom.

Great gift
I bought this for my parents as a gift and they love it! They appreciate the light weight. On a short drive up to the mountains my mom commented that the food was colder when they got there than when they put it in the cooler.
