The Role
We’re hiring a Social Media & Community Coordinator to spearhead the growth and management of our influencer, affiliate, and ambassador network (we call them Trailblazers) while also running our social channels. You’ll be the first point of contact for our extended community - building relationships, sparking conversations, and keeping our brand’s voice strong and consistent across platforms and in person.

This role will require occasional travel for industry trade shows and events.

This role reports to the Director of Brand.

Responsibilities

Trailblazer Program Management (Influencers, Affiliates & Partnerships) (50%)

  • Develop and expand the Trailblazer Program into a more robust, scalable initiative that strengthens brand reach and engagement.
  • Manage day-to-day communication with our current community of Trailblazers (influencers, affiliates, and other partners).
  • Onboard new partners and provide them with assets, codes, and guidance.
  • Track performance and help identify top partners to spotlight.
  • Foster long-term relationships with creators and brands who authentically align with the brand.
  • Identify, recruit and procure Trailblazers across multiple segments such as outdoors, sports, travel and lifestyle
  • Create content and programming with select Trailblazers for use in all Rugged Road channels

Social Media Management (35%)

  • Manage daily posting, scheduling, and engagement on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, and occasional YouTube.
  • Monitor comments, DMs, tags, and mentions - engaging with our community in brand voice.
  • Assist with content creation, editing, and repurposing user-generated content.
  • Track and report on social media performance.

PR Support (10%)

  • Assist with press outreach and media list building.
  • Help draft press releases, brand stories, and media pitches.
  • Track coverage and share notable press mentions internally.
  • Support PR activations and partnerships as needed.

Trade Show Support (5%)

  • Assist with planning and coordinating industry trade shows and events.
  • Support on-site setup, brand representation, and community engagement.
  • Capture content and assets during events for marketing and social media use.
  • Help follow up with leads, partners, and Trailblazers after events.

What We’re Looking For

  • 1–3 years of experience in marketing, social media, influencer management, and/or PR.
  • Strong written communication skills with a knack for keeping engagement fun, positive, and on-brand.
  • People person - enjoys establishing and fostering relationships with brands and creators in the industry.
  • Familiarity with major social platforms (IG, TikTok, FB, LinkedIn, YouTube) and social trends.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented - able to manage multiple projects at once.
  • Comfortable charting your own course - you don’t need hand-holding to get the job done.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, growing startup environment.
  • Experience and/or familiarity with the outdoor industry, or a genuine passion for the outdoors.
  • Willingness to travel for and participate in industry trade shows.
  • Must be available to work on EST hours.
